Pierceton Police Receive Software Technology Thanks To Lifeline Youth And Family Services
PIERCETON — Lifeline Youth & Family Services has donated funding to the Pierceton Police Department for software technology. The funding will off-set the required cloud based digital evidence storage needed for the Axon Body Cameras that are currently in-service with the Pierceton Police Department and its officers.
The funding will be facilitated over a five year term. Lifeline has a campus based in Pierceton called Pierceton Woods Academy. This campus is Lifeline’s residential facility for youth who have been removed from their home and placed with Lifeline through placing agencies such as the department of correction, department of child services or probation.
Mike Martin, VP of fiscal administration at Lifeline Youth & Family Services, approached Tim Sammons, marshal for the Pierceton Police Department. Martin inquired about opportunities that Lifeline Youth & Family Services could do to help off-set the cost associated with the Axon Body Camera project. Sammons explained that the Kosciusko County Prosecutor Dan Hampton and his office initially funding the cost to purchase the Axon Body Cameras. However, the evidence base footage must be securely stored, and the cloud-base storage offered by Evidence.com is very expensive.
After several conversations between Sammons, Martin and the I.T. Department at Lifeline Youth & Family Services, it was decided that the evidence based cloud storage offered by Evidence.com was the best solution. The project was taken in front of the Pierceton Town Council for approval. The Council members agreed to move forward with Lifeline’s proposal, and the technology offered by Evidence.com.
Sammons stated that he and the Pierceton Police Department are very grateful for the generous contributions received from the Kosciusko County prosecutor’s office and Lifeline Youth & Family Services.
