Win Gift Cards And Other Prizes With The Adult Reading Club
Adults 18 and older can win prizes just by reading! For each audiobook listened to or book read. Participants can enter their name into a weekly drawing for a prize. No library card needed. Just sign up at the adult circulation desk. The Adult Reading Program will continue until March 31, so you’ve got plenty of time to win.
Teen Book Club Meets Jan. 13
Teens in grades 6 to 12 are invited to the Teen Book Club meeting at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13. The club is talking about The Love Interest by Cale Dietrich. The novel follows teenage spies as they try to complete their mission. Come in and meet new people, enjoy delicious snacks and talk about great books.
Lego Crew Meets Jan. 13
Teens and children ages four and older can use their imagination while staying warm inside at Lego Crew from 10:30 a.m. until noon Saturday, Jan. 13. No library card needed to participate. Don’t worry about signing up, just show up and have fun!.
Read The Best Books Of 2017
Read award-winning work by established and debut authors available at Milford Public Library. The best fiction of 2017 as rated by Kirkus Reviews includes suspense novels like Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz, Exposed by Lisa Scottoline, The Late Show by Michael Connelly and House of Spies by Daniel Silva. These new fiction titles are available in the new fiction section in the adult department.
Romance readers will enjoy The Undateable by Sarah Title, Hate to Want You by Alisha Rai, and Breath of Fire by Amanda Bouchet found in the new paperback section. Historical romance novels The Day of the Duchess by Sarah MacLean and An Extraordinary Union by Alyssa Cole are perfect to cuddle up with on cold winter days.
Revisit history with award-winning nonfiction books Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI by David Grann and My Lai: Vietnam, 1968, and the Descent into Darkness by Howard Jones. No One Cares About Crazy People by Ron Powers explores the state of mental health in America.
The best teen fiction of the year includes Warcross by Marie Lu, They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera, and Landscape with Invisible Hand by M.T. Anderson, which are all located in the new teen fiction section.
