Open Practice Interviews
- Mondays, Jan. 8-29 / 11 a.m. to noon
The Career Center will host open mock interviews for anyone who wants to practice their interview skills. If you’re nervous about having an interview, or struggling to land a job because of the interview phase, these mock interviews will prepare you for the types of questions that could be asked – from basic and personal questions, to how to highlight your skills in the conversation. It will also cover how personal appearance makes a difference. Stop by between 11 a.m. and noon to practice your interview skills and receive a 25 percent discount coupon to the Goodwill retail store.
Intro to Digital Skills Workshop

Looking to enhance your computer skills? Need to learn the very basics or expand your knowledge of the internet, Microsoft applications, or E-mail? Our Introduction to Digital Skills Workshop will range from anything computer related (including your cell phone) to focusing on your skill needs. All skill levels are welcome. This workshop is designed to start you out with the information you need for life skills, school, or your career.
Job Fair

The Career Center will host a job fair on Tuesday, Jan. 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Flexaust, Leaders Staffing, Home Helper, Express Employment, Cardinal Services, Texmo Precision Castings and Danco Anodizing will be there with immediate openings for a range of shifts and opportunities, including: Clerical and Production / Manufacturing. Be prepared to interview on the spot. All companies screen candidates on site, so please dress professionally and bring a current resume.
Computer Basics
- Wednesday, Jan. 17 / 11 a.m. to noon
Goodwill will provide hands-on training and present a basic computer overview. You’ll learn the terminology, how a computer works and what can be accomplished. The program will also cover how to turn a computer on and off, and technical aspects, such as: the operating system and how a mouse works. The presentation is designed for beginners. However, any skill level can be addressed regardless of whether you are just starting out or needing to advance your abilities.
Building A Better Resume Workshop
- Thursday, Jan. 18 / 11 a.m. to noon
Need a resume or have one that’s old, outdated or just needs a little more juice? This workshop focuses on giving you the tools and advice to spruce up that sheet of paper to attract more attention. You can also use this time to lay the foundation for a brand new resume if you do not have one. Review formatting, wording, key sections to highlight, and overall organization with the goal to create a clean and robust resume that will give employers an impactful first impression of you, your skills, and experience.
