Janet L. Beck — UPDATED
Janet L. Beck, 65, Rochester, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at Parkview Regional Medical Center of Fort Wayne.
On Oct. 12, 1952, Janet Lee Krisher was born in Fulton County. She was a treasured daughter of Charles and Dorothy Jean Bradley Krisher. Growing up she shared her childhood with two sisters and two brothers. With great Zebra pride Beck graduated from Rochester High School in 1971. When patriotism beckoned Beck answered the call serving with the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
In Rochester, Robert Beck married Janet on Sept. 17, 1973. They shared nearly 40 years of life’s adventures. From their union came three wonderful children. The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of ten grandchildren.
Known for her dependability, Beck was a seamstress for Hart-Shaffner-Marx. She later worked for Topps Corporation as a seamstress. She also studied business at Ivy Tech, earning an associates degree. Talented with handiwork, Beck quilted many gifts of warmth for her family and special friends. In her spare time she studied genealogy, tracing back her family roots.
Beck is lovingly remembered by a daughter, Robin Cook and husband Eric, Warsaw; two sons: Chris Beck and wife Emily, Mentone; John Beck and wife Janet, Lucerne; ten grandchildren: Taylor Beck, Kris Beck, Rabeckah Reed, Maria Reed, Janie Reed, Jarod Beck, Jaden Beck, Coral Beck, Guien Galloway, Kory Cook; two sisters: Kathy Stutzman and husband Mike, Poinciana, Fla.; Deborah Sears and husband Robert, Warsaw; two brothers: William Krisher and wife Melody, Arnold, Mo.; Doug Krisher, Los Angeles, Calif; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Janet in death are her parents and beloved husband Robert, Dec. 14, 2013.
A celebration of the life of Janet Lee Beck will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 2, in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St., Rochester with Pastor Rod Ruberg officiating. Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to the service in the funeral home.
