Fort Wayne Man Arrested After Milford Officer Discovers Drugs During Traffic Stop

MILFORD — A Fort Wayne man was arrested after an officer conducted a traffic stop for speeding and discovered marijuana.
Steven Lynn Rennaker, 50, 3204 Iona, Fort Wayne, is being charged with resisting law enforcement, a level 6 felony, and possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor.
On Oct. 15, an officer with the Milford Police Department observed a Chrysler traveling faster than the posted speed on Higbee Street. The officer activated his emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop but the Chrysler increased in speed and continued driving.
Eventually the Chrysler pulled into a private driveway and drove behind the residence, attempting to escape the officer. The officer removed the occupants from the vehicle and identified the driver as Rennaker. The officer discovered that Rennaker’s driver’s license was suspended.
The officer impounded the vehicle and conducted an inventory search. A plastic bag containing marijuana, 13 partially burnt marijuana cigarettes, a plastic bag containing methamphetamine and a smoking pipe were all found in the vehicle.
Rennaker was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Dec. 20, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
