Pierceton Chamber Of Commerce Celebrates Year End
PIERCETON — Wrapping up the 2017 year preparing for the a new year full of adventures in 2018, the Pierceton Chamber of Commerce would like to take a moment to thank all of those who have continued to support the chamber in yet another successful year.
In October, the Pierceton Chamber of Commerce celebrated Cancer Awareness Month by having its first annual Crows for a Cause event. Filling the town with handmade scarecrows, community visitors and members were able to cast their penny votes to help support their favorite scarecrow. In collaboration of all the funds, the Town of Pierceton employees, who raised the most amount of donations, were able to present a donation to the Kosciusko Care Fund to continue to help provide financial support to those community members who currently are fighting a strong battle.
In November, the Pierceton Chamber of Commerce participated in the nation-wide Shop Small Saturday. Those who shared in the event were given an opportunity to pick up a Shopping Visa and by stopping in each downtown business were awarded a stamp of completion. All those completed visas were then collected and two names, Brenda Johannsen winning the $100 certificate and Paula Dunning winning the $50 certificate, were drawn to win two gift certificates use for later purchases in any location belonging to the Pierceton Chamber of Commerce.
During the months of November and December, Pierceton Chamber of Commerce members all participated in selling meat tickets for a drawing that partook on Dec. 16 at the its monthly meeting. All proceeds from the fundraiser go to the Pierceton Chamber of Commerce scholarship fund awarding to Whitko High School students. Congratulations to the following winners of the meat drawing: Tisha Holsten winning the $200.00 meat certificate, Jeremy Reiff winning the $100.00 meat certificate, M. Howard winning 20 pound Turkey, Carrie Owsley winning the 15lb Ham, and Shawn Sapp winning a bag of roasted Coffee from Blue Lion Coffee.
