Open House At The Y To Kick Off The New Year
WARSAW — As a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y seeks to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has an opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
If you haven’t visited the Y yet, or if you’re ready to re-start on a journey toward health, come visit the Y on Jan. 6 at its open house. The open house is free and open to everyone from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Tours will be going on all day. New members joining that day will get an opportunity to enter to win a free six month membership. They’ll also have the opportunity to earn back their joiner’s fee by coming in two times a week for 12 weeks in a row. The first 25 new members will be gifted with a “Welcome to the Y” duffle bag, water bottle, lock and earbuds. New members have access to an adult fitness orientation and an engagement coach if they need help getting started.
There will also be a sampler of our group exercise classes so that current Y members and potential members can see what will be offered in the winter session that starts Jan. 8. They’ll be offering four hours of cycling from 7:30 a.m.-11:15 a.m.- you don’t have to bike that whole time. And they will offer group exercise classes starting with PiYo 8:30-9:15 a.m., CoreBar 9:30-10 a.m., Zumba Strong 10:15-10:45 a.m., Zumba 11-11:45 a.m. and Piloxing noon-12:45 p.m. See www.kcymca.org for class descriptions.
