Shrine Club Celebrates Successful Turkey Shoot, Year
Don Smith
Chairman of Shrine Club
KOSCIUSKO – Over 1,000 shooters, and over $7,000 was raised during the 20th annual Shrine Turkey Shoot two-day event.
By far one of our best shoots yet and a reflection on our caring community from the donors to the shooters and volunteers. Family entertainment was had by all, parents, children and grandparents alike. Even those spectators, who only came to observe the fun or have food and fellowship and support the mission of the Kosciusko County Shrine Club.
The following sponsors are committed to community and made the event so successful by their gracious donations to the philanthropic mission we support: Ace Hardware, Akron Concrete Products, Albertson’s Sport Shop, Alderfer Bergan and Company, American Legion Post Sons of the Legion Ted Harrell Commander, American Table, Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, Arby’s on 15 North, Back 40, Bart’s Watersports, Batesville/Hillenbrand, Big R, Blasted Brass Jewelry, Brenspeed, Brett Anderson, Chubbie’s Pub and Grub, Clear Water Wash, Crazy Egg Café, Culligan of Warsaw, Culver’s of Warsaw, Denlinger Gun Repair, Derek Sadler, Derry Electric, Don and Bernice Smith, Downtown Eatery, Fred Vinning and Family, George’s Highlander Bar and Grill, Hacienda, Hall-Marose-Silveus Insurance, Henry Arms, INDA/Sportulas-Warsaw, Jay Shively and Family, Jay Solloway/Five Star, JB Furniture, Jellystone Campground, Kehler Law Firm, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department-Rocky Goshert-Sheriff, Lake City Honda, Lakeside Chevrolet, Lakeview Liquors-Silver Lake, Leesburg Liquors, Loose Moose, Louie’s Bar and Grill, Maple Avenue Florist, Maple Leaf Farms, Marie Myers, Martin’s Supermarkets, McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, Miner and Lemon Law Firm, Monteith Tire, Mutual Bank Detroit Street, Owen’s East and West, Patona Bay, Penguin Point, R&B Company, Reinholt’s Townsquare Furniture, Rice Ford, Schrader’s Automotive/Hoffman Brothers, Service Liquors, Stacey’s Restaurant, Superior Landscaping Products, Syracuse Police Department, The Car Company, The Tire Barn, TSC of Warsaw, Two Bear Arms Guns, WalMart of Warsaw, Warsaw/Wayne Township Fire Territory-Michael Wilson-Chief and Wyndham Gardens.
Very special thanks go to the ladies of the Shrine for preparing and serving food and coordinating the silent auction. Without them the event would not be possible. Brett Anderson and family were a tremendous contributor this year and made a significant gift to the Shrine Club and local shooting sports for our youth. Sons of the American Legion Squadron 49 made a generous contribution directly to the Shrine Hospital and deserve our heartfelt thanks. The toy donation to the hospital was made possible by Mike Biddle of Biddle Auction Company and his clientele for the second year in a row and will help to brighten Christmas for many hospital patients. Last, but not least, all the members of the Kosciusko County Shrine Club who gave of their time and talents to make this event one of the club’s most popular and prosperous annual fundraisers.
May God bless each and every one of you. Your selfless contribution will be of benefit to those children the Shrine serves through our philanthropic missions each year, over 2,000 in the Chicago Hospital alone.
