WARSAW — As the weather becomes colder, more and more people are turning to indoor activities for entertainment. Warsaw Community Public Library offers a variety of things to do inside, from books and video games to clubs, craft programs, movies and more.
Now, thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Library, WCPL also offers a collection of jigsaw puzzles that patrons can put together on-site or take home, complete and return.
The puzzles are located in an area known as The Puzzle Place, a set of shelves just across from the adult reference desk upstairs and around the corner from the elevator. This is where the young adult audiobooks were formerly located.
A library card is not necessary to take home a jigsaw puzzle and there are no barcodes to scan. The Friends simply ask that, upon completing a puzzle, the borrower return it with all of the pieces.
A puzzle table is also located upstairs, near the stairs. At any given time, there is usually a puzzle in progress and anyone is invited to pause and add a few pieces or to have a seat and work for as long as they would like. Once a puzzle is completed, a new one will take its place.
Puzzles range from 100 pieces to more than 1,000 pieces. There are small puzzles to assemble on a table and large floor puzzles. Holiday puzzles are currently available, along with a variety of year-round themes.
Puzzles are first come, first serve. Neither the Friends nor the library can guarantee the availability of a specific puzzle and patrons cannot place a hold on one. Anybody interested in a specific puzzle from the collection simply needs to keep an eye out for when it is returned.
