Solid Waste Board Delayed Due To Commissioners Meeting
WARSAW — The Dec. 12 meeting of the Kosciusko Solid Waste Management District was delayed after three board members and the treasurer were held up in a Kosciusko Commissioners meeting that met earlier in the morning.
After a 20 minute wait, the four present board members decided to begin the meeting. The board was only able to approve the minutes before the other members arrived.
The board then jumped into its short meeting. Treasurer Michelle Puckett presented a resolution for a transfer of funds. Both the resolution and the usual monthly claims were approved.
It was announced that Mike Armey, the board’s attorney, would be retiring. Board member Bob Conley offered his help to direct Tom Ganser to find a replacement.
Being the final meeting of the year, president Brad Jackson took a minute to thank Ganser for all of his improvements in the six months he has been the director of the Depot.
“I had high hopes [in the interview], but you have far exceeded expectations … you’ve done a fantastic job and you do it on a budget,” said Jackson.
In other business:
- Ganser’s project of cleaning and reorganizing the Recycling Depot’s back room is still underway.
- Rick Swaim announced this may be his last meeting, pending other board obligations.
