Swimming
The Warsaw boys and girls swimming teams picked up conference wins over Goshen.
The boys beat the RedHawks 104-66 and the girls topped Goshen 122-58 in Northern Lakes Conference action at WCHS.
The trio of Grant Knight, Alex Cook and Nick Zogbi each won a pair of individual events to pace the Warsaw boys to the league win.07.
Knight was first in the 200 IM in a time of 2:09.93 and also won the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.77. Cook won the 50 freestyle in 23.01 and took top honors in the 100 freestyle in 52.07. Zogbi was first in both the 500 freestyle in a time of 5:20.07 and the 100 backstroke in 1:01.15.
Evan Borchers won the 200 freestyle race in 1:56.56 for the Tigers.
Warsaw also took first in all of the relay events. The team of Zogbi, Knight, Cook and Ian Deming won the 200 medley relay in 1:43.18. The team of Knight, Borchers, Cook and Deming won the 200 free relay in 1:34.51 and the foursome of Zogbi, Borchers, Zach LaLonde and Jacob LaLonde won the 400 free relay race in 3:32.64.
The Warsaw boys improve to 3-2 on the season.
The Warsaw girls team was dominant in rolling past the RedHawks to improve to 4-1.
The duo of Olivia Herman and Delaney Wihebrink each won two individual events to lead the Warsaw ladies.
Herman took first in the 50 freestyle in a top time of 26.00 and also won the 100 backstroke in 1:12.47. Wihebrink captured the top spot in the 100 freestyle race in 57.60 and also won the 100 breaststroke event in 1:11.35.
Laurel Moeller won the 200 freestyle in a time of 2:09.75 for the Tigers, while Lauren Kuhl won the 500 freestyle in 5:54.83 and Emma Pena won the diving competition. Taylor Gunter placed first in the 200 IM in 2:33.23 for Warsaw.
The Warsaw ladies also dominated the relay races as the team of Herman, Wihebrink, Gunter and Morgan Bruner won the 200 medley relay in 2:00.78. The foursome of Herman, Moeller, Wihebrink and Gunter won the 200 free relay in 1:49.07 and Kuhl, Bruner, Moeller and Leah Reinholt won the 400 free relay in 4:08.26.
Warsaw will host NLC foe Plymouth for Senior Night on Tuesday.
Wrestling
Dillon Estepp led the way for the Warsaw wrestling team in the Northridge Raider Super Duals.
The senior heavyweight went 4-0 on the day with wins by pins in each of his matches.
The Tigers finished 1-3 as a team with a win over North Judson by a 69-12 final. Warsaw lost to Homestead, Northridge and Carroll in the tournament.
Junior Grayson Drudge (182), along with sophomore Brock Hueber (195), junior Gavin Truex (220), junior Jose Grimmett (145) and sophomore Isaiah Owens (106), all went 2-2 on the day.
Also picking up wins on the day for the Tiges were Jose Martinez, Fernando Niebbia, Thaddeus Baker, Brock Hogenson, Austin Brown, Brandon Estepp, Josh West and Andrew Owens.
Warsaw is now 5-16 overall and 0-4 in the NLC. The Tigers return to action in the Al Smith Invitational at Mishawaka High School on Dec. 29-30.
