North Webster Man Charged With Dealing After Female Overdoses On Heroin
NORTH WEBSTER — A North Webster man was recently arrested after a female friend overdosed on heroin. The male provides the female with her heroin and injected her with drugs during the overdose.
Ray James Skelton, 51, 301 E. George St., North Webster, is being charged with dealing a narcotic drug, a level 5 felony, and maintaining a common nuisance, a level 6 felony.
On Nov. 18, an officer with the North Webster Police Department responded to Skelton’s address in reference to a drug overdose. A female was found lying on the floor and received Narcan from medical technicians.
Skelton advised he lived in the basement of the residence and found the female lying in the bathroom. Officers noted that Skelton appeared intoxicated at the time.
The female was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment. She later told officers that she frequently uses heroin that Skelton supplies her with. She further advised that she went to Skelton’s residence to get high and that Skelton injected the heroin in her. She does not remember anything after the injection until she was found in the bathroom.
Skelton was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Dec. 2, with a $10,250 surety and cash bond.
