Notre Dame Football: Irish To Face LSU In Citrus Bowl
SOUTH BEND – The Notre Dame football team is headed to Florida to go bowling.
The Irish will face LSU in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando it was announced Sunday afternoon. The game will be played on January 1 at 1 p.m.
Notre Dame was ranked No. 14 Sunday in the final College Football Playoff rankings. The Irish and LSU are both 9-3 on the season. Notre Dame lost to Georgia, Miami and Stanford, while the Tigers were defeated by Alabama, Mississippi State and Troy.
Notre Dame defeated LSU 31-28 in their last meeting in the 2014 Music City Bowl.
The top four teams announced Sunday were Clemson, Oklahoma, Georgia and Alabama. Clemson will face Alabama and Oklahoma takes on Georgia in the playoff semifinal games on January 1. The national championship game is then slated for January 8.
