Luncheon Event Fundraiser To Support Local Nonprofit Organizations
WARSAW — A joint fundraiser for Housing Opportunities of Warsaw and Kosciusko Community Senior Services will be held at noon Wednesday, Nov. 29, at the Senior Activity Center, 800 N. Park Ave., Warsaw.
‘Cruising Memory Lane’ is a luncheon event where seniors, who have been paired with volunteers, will present a vinyl fashion show by dressing up to represent an album cover of one of their favorite recording artists from the past.
Twelve participating seniors recently attended a photo shoot to have their pictures taken for a calendar that will be available for purchase at the luncheon.
“D.C. Haircrafters have done a great job. They have donated their time to assist with hair and makeup,” said Kosciusko Community Senior Services Executive Director David Neff.
“The seniors will portray a recording artist from a record album and we will all get to enjoy hearing famous songs from the past,” said Pam Kennedy, executive director of Warsaw Housing Authority. “We hope everyone attending will find a tune that triggers a smile and good memory of a time in their life when the tune was popular.”
Tickets are $10 each or $3 for those age 60 and over. Tickets can be purchased at the Senior Center or the HOW office, 109 W. Catherine St., Milford. Tickets will also be available at the door the day of the event.
This event provides an opportunity for the community to enjoy lunch and entertainment as well as assist local seniors by supporting programs that KSSC and Housing Opportunities provide to enhance their lives.
“The seniors are very excited about this and have been looking forward to it for months,” said Neff.
Lunch for the event will be provided by Miller’s Merry Manor.
