WINONA LAKE – Lakeland Christian Academy got after it on the defensive end to overwhelm Elkhart Christian Academy, 37-19, in girls buckets Saturday afternoon.

LCA recorded 19 steals in the contest, Hope Fancil with six picks and Tori Calizo five thefts. The two also combined for 24 points, 13 rebounds and five assists.

Anna Reimink added six rebounds, five assists, three steals, a block and two points for LCA, which moves to 3-1 on the season. Brady Gross had 10 rebounds and Jess Slone chipped in six points and eight boards for the Cougars.

Precious Swen and Abbey McKibbin each finished with six points for ECA.

LCA will take on North Miami on Tuesday.
