Lyal Henry Harman
Lyal Henry Harman, 96, Etna Green, died at home at 2:31 pm Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2017. His children were at his bedside as he peacefully fell asleep in death.
Lyal was born Oct. 11, 1921 in Etna Green. He was the son of Isaac and Minnie (Buss) Harman. Lyal lived his entire life in Kosciusko County. He graduated from Etna Green High School. He went to International Business College in Fort Wayne.
On April 9, 1944, he married Jane Slough. Together they made their home on a farm at Etna Green. Jane preceded him in death in 2008.
Lyal is a dedicated servant of Jehovah God and holds a promise of resurrection in a paradise on earth. He attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Warsaw, Indiana.
Surviving relatives include two sons, David and Daniel (Debbie) of Etna Green, and a daughter Rachel (Gary) Boggs of Columbia City, Indiana. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother Fred and two granddaughters, Jenna Harman and Andrea Rowe.
The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19 in Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St. Bourbon, Indiana 46504 and before services on Monday.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Elder Ramon Salazar officiating. Burial will follow in Etna Green Cemetery at Etna Green, Indiana.
