Fist Fight Leads To Drug Arrest
WARSAW — While responding to a fist fight, an officer discovered the fight occurred because of a drug intervention. One subject was found in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.
Jacob Allan Kirlin, 18, 620 N. Lincoln St., Warsaw, is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
On Nov. 8, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a fist fight in progress. He was advised that one person left the scene in a white Chevy Trailblazer. The officer was able to locate the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
Kirlin was a passenger in the vehicle. The driver advised that the fight took place as a result of the family conducting an intervention in regards to Kirlin selling marijuana. Kirlin consented to a search of his person and the vehicle.
The officer located a red straw covered with methamphetamine substance and a plastic bag containing .4 grams of methamphetamine in Kirlin’s pocket. Inside Kirlin’s backpack, the officer discovered a digital scale, a glass smoking device, a jar containing 7.5 grams of marijuana and three plastic bags of methamphetamine.
Kirlin was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Nov. 8, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
