WCHS Presents Check To K21 Cancer Care Fund
WARSAW — Warsaw Community High School students met Monday, Nov. 13, to present a check to the K21 Kosciusko Cancer Care Fund totaling $3,087.80.
The donation follows fundraising done by students and staff during the annual breast cancer awareness pink out game. Though WCHS played against Wawasee High School, both schools worked together to help raise funds before and during the game for the cause.
“WCS students participated in an annual fundraising competition with Wawasee High School on Sept. 29 to raise awareness and funds for the Kosciusko County Cancer Care Fund,” noted Troy Akers, principal of WCHS. “The competition was highlighted by all WCHS administrators having their hair dyed pink for the school day and the game. Over $3,000.00 went from Warsaw students and patrons to assist those in need. Great job Tigers!”
Fundraising activities prior to the pink out game included various spirit days and events such as a staff jeans day, the sale of pink t-shirts and collections held in the cafeteria.
