Winona Powder Moves Forward With Abatement
ETNA GREEN — Winona Powder is moving forward with its abatement, holding a public hearing at Etna Green’s town council meeting Nov. 14.
The abatement was discussed at last month’s meeting. There was no public comment. The abatement will be voted on at next month’s meeting, Tuesday, Dec. 12.
Chad Ousley came before the board to ask if he could place a mobile home on an empty lot in the trailer park. The board informed Ousley that he first needs to go before the Kosciusko Planning Commission before the town can make any decision.
Kathy Wilson has recently moved into a home across the street from Gulf Stream, Tower Street, and is having an issue. In heavy rain, water flows off of the facility’s parking lot and floods Wilson’s garage. The town informed Wilson that there isn’t anything they can do. Board member Keith Claassen stated that he, too, experienced flooding issues from Gulf Stream’s lot and was told he could put in drains himself if it was desired. Claassen gave Wilson that same advice.
