Man Punches Woman In Throat, Charged With Battery
WARSAW — A Warsaw man is facing battery charges after punching a woman in the throat while a child was present.
Robert Joseph Schill, 26, 2441 W. CR 250S, Warsaw, is being charged with domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony, and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, officers with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a domestic dispute on Nov. 3. They spoke to a woman who advised she has asked Schill to leave her residence because he had drugs on his person. She further advised that he became angry and began punching her in the throat and slapping her face.
The woman continued, saying that as she called 911, Schill followed her around punching himself. A minor was present during the altercation.
When officers spoke to Schill he advised that the woman punched him and so he kicked her several times.
The minor told officers they observed Schill punch the woman.
Schill was booked into Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department on Nov. 3 with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
