Annual WMS Bazaar Back For 28th Year
SYRACUSE — If it is the first Saturday in December, it must mean it is time for the annual Wawasee Middle School PTO Christmas Craft Bazaar. This year’s bazaar, the 28th, is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at WMS, 9850 SR 13, south of Syracuse.
Approximately 230 vendor booths will be set up in the commons area and elsewhere in the school. Those looking for Christmas gifts or who are just interested in crafts will find many items, some of them unique. Handmade crafts, jewelry, baked goods, scarves, holiday decor, glass, pottery and wood products, and much more, will be available.
It is the only fundraiser of the year for the PTO and is organized and planned by the PTO. Money raised goes back to the PTO and indirectly to students. The PTO uses the funds to help with field trips for every grade level, provides school supplies to teachers, provides ice cream parties for students and more.
Profits from food sales will be given to the Sunshine Committee, a group of teachers who seek to improve the overall climate of the school. The positive behavioral intervention supports program, or PBIS, will also benefit from food sales.
A silent auction will be held for two rocking chairs and a side table, a $900 value, donated by Durogreen, an outdoor furniture company. The online site for the auction is available here.
Parking is available in the school parking lot, but fills up quickly. Shuttle service will be provided from nearby Vineyard Community Church, 7566 E. 1000N, just north of the school.
Admission is free to the craft bazaar. For more information, call the school at (574) 457-8839.
