Warsaw Man Found With Drug Paraphernalia Inside Storage Unit
WARSAW — An officer responded to a Warsaw storage unit due to a call regarding suspicious subjects using narcotics and a female dressed only in underwear. The male was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Christopher Eugene Konkle, 42, 415 S. Detroit St., Warsaw, is being charged with possession of syringe, a level 6 felony; maintaining a common nuisance, a level 6 felony; possession of a synthetic drug, a class A misdemeanor; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
On Oct. 24, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a suspicious person call at an unnamed Warsaw storage unit. The caller advised subjects were possible using narcotics and that a female was only dressed in underwear.
The officer arrived on scene and heard talking inside the storage unit. He entered the unlocked door that led to a series of common hallways and observed two males and a female wearing only underwear sitting on the floor.
One of the male subjects was identified as Konkle. While speaking with the subjects, the officer observed two glass smoking devices and a hypodermic syringe on the floor.
Konkle advised that the storage unit was rented by him and he was the only person on the lease agreement. He refused to give the officer consent to search the storage unit. The officer was then able to obtain a search warrant for the storage unit.
The officer discovered a glass bulb smoking device, two hypodermic syringes, a metal smoking device and a baggy containing a synthetic drug where Konkle had been sitting.The officer also discovered narcotic paraphernalia on Konkle’s person.
Konkle was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Nov. 12, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
