Triton Girls Basketball: Lady Trojans Lose Second Straight
BOURBON — South Central (Union Mills) scored 24 points in the fourth quarter, and the host Lady Trojans took their second straight loss with a 52-41 defeat at the hands of their potential sectional foes, 52-41, at the Trojan Trench Friday night.
Triton (1-2) led by a narrow 30-28 margin going into the fourth quarter, but the Satellites (2-1) outscored their hosts 24-11 in the final frame for the win.
The Trojans turned the ball over 28 times in a game that featured 47 combined turnovers by the combatants, and South Central capitalized with 28 points off turnovers.
Amber Wolf scored 13 points, Faith Biggs finished with 12, and Lauren Anthony and Skyler Wildfong put up eight points apiece for South Central in the win.
Triton got a game-high 15 points from Hannah Wanemacher to go with three assists and four steals, and Nicole Sechrist chipped in nine points alongside four steals and seven rebounds.
Triton hosts Bremen next Tuesday night in a varsity-only contest scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
