UPDATE: One Injured In Rear-End Collision
SYRACUSE — Samantha Gentry, 17, Syracuse, suffered a cut lip and complained of pain to the hip, following an accident Thursday afternoon, Nov. 9, on US 13, south of US 6. Gentry was taken to Goshen Hospital for treatment. The accident occurred at 4:39 p.m.
Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department reported Gentry was northbound on SR 13 in a 2007 Honda Accord when her vehicle struck the back of a stopped 2013 Freightliner, driven by Caleb Sheeley, 39, Goshen. Sheeley was not injured.
Gentry was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Syracuse Police Department, Benton Township Fire Department and Turkey Creek Fire Territory Fire and EMS.
