Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
6:47 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, West CR 200S, east of South CR 600W, Warsaw. Driver: Marvin W. Hinds, 24, South CR 775W, Mentone. Hinds advised he was traveling eastbound on CR 200S when a deer ran into the driver’s side of his vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
1:33 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, Bell Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Mohit Sheera, 38, Briar Ridge Circle, Warsaw and Timothy L. Brooks 58, West Jackson Street, Mentone. Sheera was turning in to a parking lot when his vehicle struck Brooks’ vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
12:02 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, SR 13, north of East CR 725S, Pierceton. Driver: Michael Wise, 28, North Elm Street, North Manchester. Wise stated he dozed off while driving. His vehicle exited the west side of the road and struck a steel post. Wise was transported to the hospital for injuries. Damage up to $10,000.
5:53 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6, North SR 19, north of West CR 1100N, Nappanee. Drivers: Robert W. Adams, 63, West CR 1350N, Nappanee, and Derek J. Flenner, 24, West Pike Street, Warsaw. Flenner’s vehicle was stopped in the middle of SR 19 after being involved in a different crash. Adams stated he saw Flenner’s vehicle in the roadway but did not realize it was not moving. Adams’ vehicle struck Flenner’s vehicle, pushing it off the roadway. Flenner was cited for driving while suspended. Damage up to $10,000.
5:12 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6, East CR 500N, east of North CR 750E, North Webster. Driver: Larry M. Stauffer, 58, East Brown Road, Leesburg. Stauffer’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
1:01 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, North SR 13, south of North Southshore Drive, Syracuse. Drivers: Troy D. Owens, 56, CR 2, Middlebury, Amanda H. Shoemaker, 30, South Barbee Drive, Pierceton, and Brittany A. Callahan, 27, North Front Street, Syracuse. Owens’ vehicle rear-ended Shoemaker’s vehicle, causing Shoemaker’s vehicle to collide with the rear driver’s side of Callahan’s vehicle. Owens was evaluated for injuries at Goshen Hospital. Damage up to $25,000.
