WARSAW — Our Eccentric Artist series is getting another interruption this week because I wanted you to know about an exciting event coming to Warsaw. The Lakeland Art Association is sponsoring a fundraising event that will benefit you as well as the art organization. An Artisan Holiday Boutique will be held 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4. This will be indoors at the Family Arts Building, the first main building on the right as you enter the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds.
Some of the top artists in northern Indiana will be participating in this event which is free to the public. The Odd Fellows Café from Pierceton will be offering food items all day. One of the clever things the LAA is planning will be to give each demonstrating artist a number of “early entry” tickets. All you need to do, if you want to obtain entrance before the 10 a.m. time frame is to contact one of the artists listed below and you will be admitted at 9 a.m. This will give you an opportunity to pick up a special item before the general public arrives. This early entrance also will offer you a free cocoa and pastry at the door along with a free raffle ticket, and, as mentioned, first access to all the original and handmade goods that will be for sale.
Early entrance free tickets will be available from Roxanne Coffelt who makes incredible jewelry; Elizabeth Wamsley, ceramics and clay items; Mike Yazel woodworking and blown glass; Kelly Shoemaker, oil paintings; Brenda Stichter, acrylic abstracts; Wayne Harshberger, amazing stone and marble sculptures; Lane and Jenny Laffoon, sculptures and macramé; Ann Peperak, watercolors; Paul Raiman, photography. Other award winning artists are being added every day. This is an event you will not want to miss.
When I first arrived in this area from California some years ago, I was shocked at the beautiful quality and talent going into the art work I found here in Indiana. It was so reasonably priced I could do nothing but shake my head at the professional grade of work being done in this artistic community. We are very fortunate and blessed to be able to acquire such masterful work. This event will be an opportunity for you to take advantage of some of that talent and obtain it for your own delight and pleasure. Hope to see you there!
