Groninger Is Second Candidate To File For County Commissioner
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Cary P. Groninger has officially announced his candidacy to seek the vacated Kosciusko County Commissioner-middle district seat, previously held by Ron Truex. He filed his declaration of candidacy with Kosciusko County Republican Central Committee President Mike Ragan Thursday, Oct. 19.
Groninger, 50, of Mentone, is a 1985 graduate of Tippecanoe Valley High School. He is a lifetime Kosciusko County resident and was born and raised on the family farm located in Harrison Township.
He is the president of G&G Hauling & Excavating Inc., which is a company specializing in industrial and commercial site development and underground utility infrastructure. G&G Hauling & Excavating Inc. is a family owned business operating in Kosciusko County for 50 years. As the leader of a local business Groninger has been a strong supporter of the community and its many organizations.
“I want to continue the strong leadership that Commissioner Truex showed over the last 17 years and use my business experience to ensure the effective use of the people’s funds to maintain and improve county infrastructure,” Groninger stated.
Groninger is the son of Thomas and Sandra Groninger of Atwood. He is the father of three children with his wife Kathleen DeTrude Groninger.
