Churches To Bless Harvest Truckers At Clunette Elevator
Clunette and Aldersgate United Methodist churches will provide sack lunches for harvest truckers driving across the Clunette Elevator weighing scales from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21.
“The joint effort is to give thanks to God for this year’s harvest and for all the farmers who have worked long hours to bring in the harvest,” said Mike Beezley, Clunette UMC’s pastor.
Several churches joined the effort last year, the program’s inaugural year.
“We see dozens of harvest trucks go across the scales so it’s a pretty neat thing,” said Beezley. “We will have a blessing waiting for them when they arrive that day.”
Clunette United Methodist is located across the road from the elevator, about four miles west of SR 15 on CR 600N.
Aldersgate United Methodist is located at 105 Hovey St., Atwood.
