WINONA LAKE – Alexa Hill and Kurt Hamlin continued their impressive seasons when they were named Crossroads League Players of the Week.
Hill produced 9.6 assists per set last week for Grace’s volleyball team. Her most dominant match came in a road win at Taylor, racking up 45 assists with 21 digs in four sets.
She nearly led a short-handed Lady Lancer squad to an upset of No. 18 Cornerstone (3-2 loss), tallying 47 assists, 9 digs, 2 kills and 2 block assists. Hill also tallied 2.3 digs per set on defense.
The Lady Lancers are home twice this week, including Wednesday 7 p.m. against Marian and Saturday 3 p.m. against Indiana Wesleyan.
For the third time this season, Kurt Hamlin was given a weekly award for Grace’s men’s soccer team.
Hamlin was named the Crossroads League Defensive Player of the Week for the Lancers.
Hamlin made 11 saves last week, winning two games in goal for the Lancers. He had seven saves on the road against St. Francis, securing Grace’s 2-1 win and helping the Lancers into first place in the Crossroads League.
The Lancers face a stiff test this week in league play. On Wednesday, Grace will travel to Huntington, which will be followed by a Saturday home clash against second-place Spring Arbor at 1st Source Bank Field.
