Everett Leroy Vance
Everett Leroy Vance, 79 and a lifetime resident of the Warsaw and Pierceton area, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, in his home outside of Pierceton.
Everett was born on June 14, 1938 and was the son of Maurise and Cleo (Sisk) Vance. He attended local schools and graduated from Warsaw High School with the class of 1956.
Everett was a proud veteran of the United States Army who entered service to his country on Nov. 13, 1961. He served in Germany during Vietnam and was honorably discharged on Oct. 31, 1967.
He and Priscilla Sue Stevens were forever united in marriage on Feb. 3, 1962 in Warsaw. Married for nearly 55 years, the couple shared many joyful memories and raised two daughters, Teresa and Stefanie on their farm outside of Pierceton. Priscilla preceded Everett in passing on Aug. 12, 2016.
Everett was retired from RR Donnelly and Sons after more than 30 years of service to the company. He had worked as a pressman.
Throughout his life, Everett had raised Black Angus Cattle. He enjoyed reading novels especially those by Stephen King, Dean Koontz and Louis L’Amore. He enjoyed traveling with his family and visiting family members all over the United States; He and Priscilla had made several trips to the East Coast to see the lighthouses there. Everett was a hard worker, an unwavering provider and loved his family dearly.
Those who survived include two daughters, Teresa (husband, John) Carpenter of Warsaw and Stefanie Vance of Warsaw; three grandchildren: Jason (wife, Ashley) Baker of Warsaw, Jessica Baker of Pierceton and Kylie Carpenter of Warsaw; four great-grandchildren; brother, John (wife, Marjorie) Vance of Claypool and sister, MaryAnn Laird of Warsaw. His wife, Priscilla and his parents, Maurise and Cleo, preceded Everett in passing.
The family will welcome friends into Titus Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 18, for a time of visitation. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at noon with visitation again for one hour prior to the service. Reverend Dave Hummel will officiate the service with military honors conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post 49 and VFW Post 1126.
