Chautauqua’s First Banquet Held Oct. 1
SYRACUSE — Chautauqua held its first banquet Sunday, Oct. 1. It was held at the Oakwood Event Center and there were approximately 50 in attendance, including Oakwood Foundation board members, community members, Dr. Rex and Connie Parent, Mimi Rolland and several representatives from Parkview Health.
There were heavy appetizers and desserts served by the Oakwood staff. Chautauqua staff members Tammy Cotton, Brittney Dudeck and Melodie Koher presented the program.
Two awards were presented: First award was the Corporate Award, sponsored by the Ian & Mimi Rolland Foundation and the recipient of this award was Parkview Health. The second award was Community Award, sponsored by the Myra & Howard Brembeck Foundation, and was awarded to Ian and Mimi Rolland. Mimi Rolland was there to accept the award.
Cotton shared with those attending the brief history of Chautauqua, as well as the events and programs held at Oakwood this year and those coming in the future. She announced there are still tickets available for the upcoming Purdue Glee Club concert Oct. 13, and “Experience Chautauqua,” which will take place Oct. 15-17.
Chautauqua — Wawasee is partnering with the Syracuse-Wawasee Historical Museum and the SS Lillypad to provide a tour around Lake Wawasee, in which Ann Garceau will be narrating the “then & now” on the lake. For tickets and more info, go to www.chautauquawawasee.org.
