LCA Sports Wrap: Sept. 30
Volleyball
LCA split its two games at Oak Hill Saturday morning.
The Lady Cougars beat Trader’s Point 25-22, 25-16, 25-13 then were turned around by Oak Hill 25-9, 25-12, 25-10.
Against Trader’s Point, Carlie Wise led with nine kills and Kyla Kohler had six kills, six aces and 17 assists. MyKenzie Burns added 15 digs and four kills and Baylee Wiley chipped in 15 digs and four kills.
In the Oak Hill matchup, Heather Plastow and Burns combined for 42 digs while Kohler had nine assists and three kills.
LCA sits at 10-13 overall with a match at home Tuesday against Goshen Blue Blazers.
Boys Soccer
Trinity topped LCA, 3-1, late Friday in the final regular season matchup for the Cougars.
A possession-starved LCA side found itself down 1-0 at the half, but drew even when Parker Stewart found the netting, assisted by Garrett McCoomb. Trinity, however, got a goal back shortly thereafter and punched in an insurance goal to close out matters.
LCA was limited to just three shots in the match while Trinity fired off 18, forcing Remington Swanson into eight saves.
Lakeland Christian Academy Boys Varsity Soccer team drops to 6-10 overall and will take on the winner of Argos and North Miami on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 5:15 p.m. at Argos High School to start their sectional hopes.
