Warsaw Woman Charged With Breaking Into Residence, Strangling Resident
WARSAW — Official charges were filed Monday, Sept. 25, against Olivia Nicole Stacy, 20, 890 Walkers Ridge, Warsaw, for events that took place Sept. 18 at the home of another individual. The charges have been filed in Kosciusko Superior Court 1.
Stacy has officially been charged with residential entry and strangulation, both level 6 felonies; and battery, a class A misdemeanor. She was initially booked on a charge of strangulation. Her bond was set at $5,250 surety and cash.
Warsaw police report Sept. 18, they were called to a residence on Walkers Ridge where they spoke with the occupant, who lives at that residence with her mother and aunt. The victim stated she came home and found the front door had been forced open and Stacy sitting on the couch. The victim told Stacy she was not allowed in the residence and told her to leave, at which time Stacy chest bumped her.
The victim advised she walked away at which time Stacy grabbed her from behind by the neck and throat and squeezed her neck, making it difficult to breath. The victim fell down the stairs outside on the ground and was able to get away and contact police. Police spoke to another individual who heard the victim tell Stacy to leave the residence and saw the altercation.
Stacy admitted to police she contacted the victim about coming to the residence to obtain some property, but was told she would not be let inside the home. However, when she arrived the door was locked and she forced the door open to get some of her belongings. She told police she and the victim argued and pushed each other until they fell on the ground out the front door. She also advised she may have had her hands on the victim’s neck.
