Freaky 5K Looking For Souls
WARSAW – The third annual Freaky 5K Family Halloween Run/Walk, held on October 28th, is open for registration.
Participants will be running/walking from the K21 Health Pavilion, around the Lake City Greenway and finishing back near the Kosciusko Community Hospital campus.
“I thought that a 5K race would target a completely different group of people who may not know about the Cancer Care Fund, yet are passionate about supporting cancer related fundraisers and who are avid runners,” said race organizer Ron Smock. “What is unique about the CCF, is that 100 percent of all net funds raised are used to financially assist cancer patients and their families, right here in our county. The K21 Health Foundation administers our fund at no cost, which means more funds go to our friends and neighbors that are in need.
“And to have The Lutheran Health Network/KCH get behind our cause and be the title sponsor is a big boost to our fundraiser. We want this to be a fun, family event and are hoping people will come appropriately dressed for Halloween! Costumes are definitely encouraged!”
There are several ways to become involved; as a participant in the Run/Walk, a volunteer for the event or make a direct donation to the Cancer Care Fund. Participants can go online to the following sites for a link to pre-register.
All participants that pre-register will get a souvenir t-shirt:
