Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
3:36 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, West CR 100S, Warsaw. Driver: Bryan Jimenez, 17, East Wooster Road, Pierceton. Jimenez attempted to turn into a driveway, hitting a culvert, going into a yard and hitting a fence. Damage up to $10,000.
4:51 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, South SR 15 and West CR 800S, Claypool. Driver: Ashly K. Mardy, 33, West CR 1400N, Silver Lake. Hit deer. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
1:42 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, LaVista Drive, south of Dogwood Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Ronald Prater, 62, LaVista Drive, Warsaw. Prater lost steering and brake control of his vehicle and struck a parked vehicle registered to Federico R. Presteguin, LaVista Drive, Warsaw. Damage up to $5,000.
7:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, East Center Street, east of North Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Dominic A. Degaetano, 18, Oriole Drive, Warsaw, and Larry D. Hapner, 34, South CR 300E, Claypool. Degaetano struck the back of the Hapner vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
6:05 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, East Winona Avenue and South Bronson Street, Warsaw. Driver: Daniel J. Streeter, 33, South Washington Street, Warsaw. Streeter suffered abrasions to his entire body. He was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Streeter stated the driver of another vehicle turned in front of him and struck his vehicle and then left the scene. However, the driver then turned around and began driving toward Streeter, who had exited his vehicle. Streeter knocked on the driver side window of the other vehicle and the glass broke out. The other vehicle began to accelerate and drag him on the roadway. The vehicle was later found abandoned and taken to the Warsaw Police garage. Damage up to $2,500.
4:34 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, US 30, west of Orthopedic Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Kayleen Van Nostrand, 20, Cherry Tree Lane, Rochester, and Jennifer L. Reiff, 19, North Binkley Road, Larwill. Injured: Reiff complained of left thumb and wrist pain. She was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Reiff was also cited for operating a vehicle without financial responsibility. A vehicle pulled out in front of the Reiff vehicle causing Reiff to stop suddenly. Van Nostrand’s vehicle then struck the back of the Reiff vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.
5:09 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 1721 E. Center St., Warsaw. Driver: Nicholas X. Moore, 18, Charles Street, Winona Lake. Moore did not turn wide enough when driving from a parking space and struck a parked vehicle. No information on the vehicle owner was available. Damage up to $2,500.
6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, East Winona Avenue and South Scott Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Nathaniel S. Franklin, 18, Birchwood Drive, McKinney, Texas, and Tyler B. Silveus, 36, Administration Boulevard, Winona Lake. Franklin’s vehicle struck the back of the Silveus vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
