Warsaw Artist Juried Into OPA Regional Exhibition
WARSAW — Warsaw artist Steve Creighton has been notified by Oil Painters of America’s president John Michael Carter OPAM that his still life oil painting titled “Tres Rojos” has been juried into the Oil Painters of America Regional Exhibition of Traditional Oils to be held at Anderson Fine Art Gallery in St. Simons Island, Georgia Nov. 17 through Dece. 16. Associate and Signature members’ artwork will be featured in the show with awards presented at an opening reception. Signature artist Howard Friedland served as Juror of Awards.
Creighton was accepted as a member of OPA in December 2016. He grew up in the Warsaw area and majored in both Art and Business at Valparaiso University as an undergraduate and continued his art education with graduate art courses at Indiana University. His oil paintings have won numerous awards including multiple Best of Show distinctions. In addition to OPA, Creighton is a member of National Oil & Acrylic Painters’ Society, Hoosier Salon and several Indiana Art Guilds and Associations.
