PIERCETON — A Pierceton man has been charged with molesting a minor female after the Indiana Department of Child Services conducted an investigation.

Steven Ray Slabach, 34, 5241 E. Washington Road, Pierceton, is being charged with child molesting, a level 4 felony, and sexual misconduct with a minor, a level 5 felony.

On Aug. 11, a caseworker with the Indiana Department of Child Services met with officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department to investigate claims that Slabach was molesting a female under 14 years of age.

The officer met with the caseworker and the minor child. According to the affidavit of probable cause, the victim advised Slabach began touching her inappropriately on a weekly basis. The last time this occurred was Aug. 6. The touching would happen at night in her bedroom.

The officer and the caseworker then spoke with Slabach who admitted to touching the victim. Slabach said the touching gave him pleasure and he knew it was wrong.

Slabach was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 11 with a $51,000 bond.
