North Manchester Public Library Awarded LSTA Grant
NORTH MANCHESTER — The North Manchester Public Library has received a grant in the amount of $9,814 to implement a Mobile Learning Lab in the children’s department of the library.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to update the technology resources that we offer the children of our community with a Mobile Learning Lab,” stated library director, Amy Acree. “In the last year, we have seen our programming numbers skyrocket, and we believe that we can reach even more children with enhanced technology. With the implementation of Mobile Learning Lab, we hope to provide programming on gaming, coding, and graphic design for children within the next year.”
This project is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Indiana State Library. The Institute of Museum and Library Services is the primary source of federal support for the nation’s 123,000 libraries and 35,000 museums.
The North Manchester Public Library hopes to have the Mobile Learning Lab in use this fall. To look for updates or to learn about other services at the North Manchester Public Library, visit www.nman.lib.in.us or follow the library on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
