Warsaw Volleyball: Players Scrimmage With Chinese Guests
ROLLING PRAIRIE – Several volleyball players from the Warsaw schools system got to take part in a very unique experience Friday.
The players were part of scrimmages with Chinese students from the Yuxin School. The school is affiliated with Capital Normal University in Beijing, China.
The Warsaw players are members of the various club teams at the Dunes Volleyball Club, which is owned and operated by WCHS volleyball coach Rick Ashmore. The scrimmages took place at the Dunes Operation Center Friday.
Club teams from the Dunes 14 Black, Dunes 13 Black and Dunes 12 Black participated in the event.
The Dunes 14 Black team members from Warsaw included Betty Barnett, Kennedy Lauck and Elizabeth Schmidt, all from WCHS.
The Dunes 13 Black squad included Kylie Smith from Lakeview Middle School in Warsaw. The Dunes 12 Black team included players Melaina Hawblitzel and Anna Zartman from Washington Elementary School and Caitlyn Patrick from Leesburg Elementary School.
