AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley issued a pair of notes for upcoming events surrounding the athletic program.
The first is info for the 2017 Sweet Sassy Golf Classic, which is set to take place on Aug. 26 at 8 a.m. at Rozella Ford Golf Course. The event, which was started up last summer, is designed to earn money for area children through the memorial scholarship of Scott Bibler, who passed away in 2015.
Bibler spent 25 years serving Tippecanoe Valley High School as an educator and football coach. His impact was tremendous while at the school, and continues to be a driving force after his passing. The scholarship, held by the Kosciusko County Community Foundation, is set up for students who look to pursue a career in education, helping underprivileged children to participate in educational, cultural and musical activities, or help them access counseling services.
A four-person team is $280 ($300 after Aug. 1), and opportunities to advertise at the event are available.
The golf event has a registration website, https://www.sweetsassygolfouting.com/, and a Facebook page with more information. For direct questions, contact either Chad Brouyette at (574) 328-0012 or Tyler Boganwright at (574) 328-0994.
The Tippecanoe Valley athletic department will also recognize on the same weekend the 25th anniversary of the 1992 Valley football sectional championship team. The recognition will take place at halftime of the Valley v. Culver Academy game, which Valley will host Friday, Aug. 25. Kick-off for the game will be at 7:30 p.m.
Coaches, team members, cheerleaders and managers from the 1992 team may RSVP attendance to Duane Burkhart at [email protected].
