Warsaw Man Pulls Out A Knife, Threatens To Kill Subject
WARSAW — A Warsaw man is facing charges after threatening to kill a man with a knife.
Kapen Lee Eherenman, 22, 2441 W. CR 250S, Warsaw, is being charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony; criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor; and criminal mischief, a class B misdemeanor.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a intimidation and criminal mischief complaint on June 26. When officers arrived to the residence the male victim advised that he and a female live at the residence.
The female had told the male victim that Eherenman was visiting the residence to see his children, further advising the male to not come to the residence while Eherenman was there. The male needed clothes for work and stopped at the residence.
The affidavit states that when no one answered the door, and after the male stated he needed clothes, Eherenman yelled that he would kill him. The door was opened and Eherenman then stated he’d give the victim one chance to get his things and leave. The victim advised officers that Eherenman came after him, yelling that he would kill him. Eherenman then pulled out a knife and again threatened him.
According to the affidavit, the female at this time was attempting to hold Eherenman back, advising the male to get his things and leave.
Eherenman then left through the back door. When the male victim went to leave, all four tires on his vehicle had been freshly slashed.
Shortly after this incident, dispatch received a call from a nearby neighbor of the victim who stated she heard glass break and witnessed a male fitting Eherenman’s description running away. A Winona Lake Police Officer located Eherenman walking on the road with two large lacerations. Eherenman stated that he punched a mailbox on Wooster Road but officers were not able to find evidence. A storm window of the rear of the residence was broken with blood running down from it.
Officers spoke with the female who lives at the residence and she stated the window was not broken when she had left earlier.
Eherenman was convicted of battery against the female May 23 in Kosciusko Superior Court II.
