Teen Arrested For Trading Stolen Dirt Bike For Watch, Speaker
KOSCIUSKO — A teen from Albion was arrested when he traded a stolen dirt bike for a watch and a Beats Pill speaker in Kosciusko County.
Tyler Ray Martin, 18, 215 W. Hazel St., Albion, is being charged with receiving stolen auto parts, a level 6 felony.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a stolen dirt bike in Kosciusko County. The Honda Cr450 dirtbike had been stolen from a detached garage sometime between June 25 and 30.
On July 2, an officer responded to a battery. During the investigation, it was discovered that the victim had been riding a dirtbike when he was jumped by three subjects. It was discovered that the victim had received the dirtbike from Martin through a trade for his gold watch and a Beats Pill speaker.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the officer then spoke with Martin’s girlfriend. She gave permission for a vehicle search. Inside the vehicle, the officer discovered the gold watch and speaker that the victim traded to Martin for the dirt bike.
The officer then interviewed Martin. He advised that the dirt bike had been stolen by another individual but that he did trade the dirt bike to the victim on July 2.
Martin was previously arrested for robbing an individual at gunpoint in February. He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on July 3 with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
