June Jamboree Charity Event Update
KOSCIUSKO — iBOP, Indiana Business Opportunity Partners, a local not-for-profit group that has several events throughout the year to support local charities recently held their June Jamboree Bazaar and Quarter Auction for Charity.
Baker Youth Club was chosen as the Charity of Focus to bring awareness to all they provide to the community. BYC is a local youth development agency that strives to provide quality supervision for the young people in the community while to shaping an educated, healthy, and social identity based on Christian values. BYC emphasizes education, health, physical fitness and social skills while teaching young people life skills. The staff at BYC takes pride in helping children by providing a structured daily schedule that will teach them discipline, respect, relationship building and other essential components that will help them be successful in life.
iBOP was proud to deliver Baker Youth Club a check totaling $1017.84. The bazaar featured area direct sales vendors and crafters.
Auction tickets were available in advance for a total of $5 and were $7 the day of the auction. During the auction, admission tickets were exchanged for a numbered auction paddle. Bidder’s raise their paddles and supply a quarter per retail level of the item up for sale, entering them into a drawing. Should a paddle number be drawn that did not bid, guests were asked to shout, “no bid,” and follow an honor system. There were over 100 items up for bid during the auction.
Items with a retail value of $10-$24.99 cost bidders 1 quarter. For each $25 dollar increase an additional quarter was added. No item cost bidder’s more than four quarters to bid on.
For those who missed the event or for those who attended and want to join for the next event iBOP will be holding another Bazaar and Quarter Auction fundraiser on Nov. 11 at the Baker Youth Club. The Bazaar is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is free for all ages to attend.
The quarter auction portion of the event will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. with no one under the age of 18 allowed. Tickets will be required for entry.
There will be approximately 100 items up for bid from the vendors and crafters. For tickets, to be a vendor or for more information, you may contact Betty at (574) 527-6005 or visit the Facebook page.
