Parker Crowned 2017 Queen Of Lakes
NORTH WEBSTER — “I feel awesome. I feel great returning to the pageant since last year, my family had a little bit of a health issue and knowing that every body’s healthy in my family this year really made this whole experience really enjoyable and the group of girls this year were outstanding. I just want to thank all of them coming out and being such good sports and so helpful for everything.”
Those were the thoughts of the 2017 Queen of Lakes Hannah Parker, Miss Winona Lake, after accepting her crown Saturday night. Parker was third runner up in the 2016 Queen of Lakes Pageant.
Parker was also the first runner up in the queens conveyance competition. Her entry was Alice in Wonderland attending a tea party.
Parker, Warsaw, is the daughter of Scott Parker, and will be junior at Manchester University where she is working to obtain a mechanical engineering degree before furthering her education by going to grad school for motorsports engineering.
Ashley Salyer, Miss Center Lake, was first runner-up. Salyer, Warsaw, is the daughter of Brian and Stephanie Salyer. She will be a senior at Warsaw Community High School.
Second runner up was Madison Fisher, Miss Oswego Lake. Fisher, North Webster, is the daughter of Jerry and Michele Fisher and a graduate of Wawasee High School.
Hannah Potulney, Miss Lake City was third runner up. Potulney, North Webster, is the daughter of Thomas and Jeana Potulney and is a graduate of Wawasee High School.
Potulney was also named Miss Congeniality and placed second in the queen’s conveyance competition with her float entry of a fairy.
Lauren Brown, Miss Hidden Lake, placed third in the queens conveyance as a princess.
Winning the People’s Choice Theme Wear Award was Jadelyne Skelton, Miss Lake Wawasee, in her Hawaiian attire.
The Community Service Award was presented to Ashley Larson, Miss Kuhn Lake.
