Twelve Indiana Students To Compete In National Spelling Bee
INDIANAPOLIS — Eleven million entrants have been narrowed down to 291 spellers in the Scripps National Spelling Bee — and 12 of them are from Indiana:
- Samuel Thomas of South Bend
- Grace Jones of New Carlisle
- Daniel Larsen of Bloomington
- Cameron Apple of Paoli
- Anastasia Spahr of Peru
- Zoe Ward of Marion
- Ashwin Prasad of Carmel
- Reese Perry of Evansville
- Jashun Paluru of West Lafayette
- Ishreet Lehal of Terre Haute
- Caleb Roberts of Muncie
- Nicholas Ivan of Carmel
The final two rounds of preliminary competition are set for Wednesday and will be broadcast on ESPN3. The finals are set for Thursday and will be broadcast on ESPN from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
