Troups Honored As 2017 Senior King And Queen
MILFORD—Bill and Ann Troup were chosen as the 2017 Senior King and Queen at Milford Fest. They are true examples of strength, service and extending the love of Christ to others.
They have been married for 53 years. They have four children: Angie (Harold) Higginbotham, Christie (Travis) Marsh, Tim (Angela) Troup and Kim (Brad) Brown. They also have 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Bill graduated from Milford. He served four years in the Air Force and spent 31 years at NIPSCO. He enjoys golf, hunting, fishing and bird feeding. For years Bill would fill the bird feeders at the nursing home and spend time visiting with the residents. He loves Ann’s pecan pie.
Ann graduated from Warsaw. Ann has worked in kindergarten at Milford School and she enjoys scrapbooking, reading and making cards. She also created a Dorothy from Wizard of Oz costume for her granddaughter who was the winner of the Cutie Contest several years ago.
Together Bill and Ann coordinate collection and dispersal of food to 60 different food pantries with the food pantry project. This project has been going on for six years and involves community volunteers to sort and pack the food for pantry pickup. Because of this project, hundreds of people in area communities do not go to bed hungry each night.
