Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
12:54 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, North Detroit Street, Warsaw. A female stated she came out to the KGP parking lot where her vehicle was parked in the employee area and found that her right rear bumper and tail light were damaged from a hit and run crash. Damage up to $5,000.
5:25 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, Lake City Highway, west of Commerce Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Laine B. Hicks, 19, Portage Road, Niles, Mich., and Nathan T. Balint, 24, M 62, Edwardsburg, Mich. Hicks advised that he and Balint work together and that he was following Balint from a job site back to their business headquarters. Hicks advised that he fell asleep while driving and struck Balint’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
6:24 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Driver: Kenyan C. Bennett, 18, East Clark Street, Warsaw. Bennett advised that he is an employee of Penguin Point. When he left work he decided to go through the drive thru but did not realize how close he was to the concrete pole on the left inside corner. Bennett struck the pole. Damage up to $2,500.
6:31 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, West Winona Avenue and South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Brandon D. Johnson, 19, West CR 550S, Claypool, and Justin M. Bodrie, 38, Biblers Avenue, Winona Lake. The vehicles collided at the intersection. Damage up to $25,000.
8:32 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, Center Street, Warsaw. The owner of a vehicle parked in Owen’s parking lot discovered damage to the vehicle upon exiting the store. Damage up to $2,500.
8:58 a.m. Thursday, May 18, Lake City Highway, west of Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Tommy L. Torpy, 74, South CR 400E, Claypool, and Evan C. Bremer, 19, North CR 175E, Warsaw. Torpy rear-ended Bremer’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
9:04 a.m. Thursday, May 18, North Parker Street and Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: Karen S. Thomas, 76, Sharon Street, Winona Lake, and Shane A. Miller, 37, West CR 900N, Huntington. Thomas struck Miller’s vehicle as she was attempting to merge into a westbound turn lane. Damage up to $5,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
2:38 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, South Huntington Street, north of Pittsburg Street, Syracuse. Drivers: Seth E. Biltz, 35, East CR 650S, Pierceton, and Jennette Montgomery, 57, North Sandpoint Drive, Cromwell. Biltz rear-ended Montgomery’s vehicle. Damage up to 10,000.
