Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
9:08 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, South SR 15, Claypool. Drivers: John P. Mattern, 65, West CR 200N, Wabash, and John D. Sipe, 65, East CR 350S, Monroe. Mattern was attempting to back his semi up and backed into Sipe’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
4:26 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, West Crystal Lake Road, east of South CR 400W, Warsaw. Driver: Craig R. Hurley, 23, West Wood Duck Drive, Mentone. Hurley advised he believes he fell asleep while driving eastbound on Crystal Lake Road. Hurley’s vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree and overturned. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
10:14 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, East Center Street and South Cleveland Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Lindsay R. Smith, 19, South Lake Sharon Road, Warsaw, and Rodolfo E. Martinez-Velazquez, 20, East Clark Street, Warsaw. The vehicles collided at the intersection. Damage up to $5,000.
1:08 a.m. Thursday, May 11, South Hand Avenue, north of West Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Driver: Devin M. Doty, 21, West CR 500S, Mentone. Doty was traveling southbound on Hand Avenue. He advised he approached the railroad viaduct and did not think about the height restrictions to pass underneath. The roof of his vehicle struck the bottom of the railroad viaduct. Damage up to $2,500.
