Indiana High Schools Among Top Schools In Nation
EVANSVILLE — A list of the nation’s best high schools includes more than 40 in Indiana. Twelve schools in the state are ranked among the top 1,000 by “U.S. News and World Report,” including the Signature School in Evansville, which is number one in Indiana.
More than 420 Hoosier high schools were included this year among the over 22,000 listed by the publication. Signature School was the only one from Indiana in the top 300.
The schools are measured by factors including the publication’s College Readiness Index, AP testing participation and passing percentages, as well as math and English proficiency scores.
The Top 25 in Indiana are:
- Signature School in Evansville (33rd nationally)
- Zionsville Community High School (311th nationally)
- West Lafayette Jr./Sr. High School (329th nationally)
- Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities in Muncie (365th nationally)
- Herron High School in Indianapolis(390th nationally)
- Westfield High School (561st nationally)
- Munster High School (637th nationally)
- Carmel High School (735th nationally)
- Yorktown High School (767th nationally)
- Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers (855th nationally)
- Burris Laboratory School in Muncie (938th nationally)
- Fishers High School (976th nationally)
- Tri Central Middle-High School in Sharpsville (1121th nationally)
- Fairfield Jr-Sr High School in Goshen (1178th nationally)
- Homestead Senior High School in Fort Wayne (1202th nationally)
- Franklin Central High School in Indianapolis (1315th nationally)
- Carroll High School in Fort Wayne (1356th nationally)
