Jordan Rice
Jordan Rice, 19, Fort Wayne and formerly of Columbia City, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017.
Born Jan. 6, 1998 in Columbia City, she was the daughter of Jimmie Rice and Rena Gerber.
Jordan attended Indian Springs and Maple Creek Middle School. She played softball while attending Columbia City High School and graduated from Carroll High School with the class of 2016. She then moved to Fishers to attend Aveda Fredric’s Institute to become a hair stylist. Besides softball, she also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, bowling on a league at Georgetown Bowl and riding her motorcycle alongside her dad with her dog, Buddy on her back.
Survivors include father, Jimmie Rice, of Fort Wayne; mother, Rena Gerber, of Columbia City; brother, Ricco Martinez; sister, Gabrielle Fry; grandparents, Jim and Cheryl Rice, of Columbia City and Becky and Roger Fitzpatrick, of Claypool; great-grandma, Maxine Burwell, of New Haven; uncles, Tracey (Shawn) Rice, Chris (Kim) Judd, Cortney (Dawn) Judd; aunt, Stacey (Kevin) Gorski and several cousins and great-aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her grandma, Karla Wagoner; great-grandparents, Merlin Rice, Mary Rice, Rosalie Hilsmier and Bill and Juanita Haines; and her special dog, Buddy.
Visitation is 2-6:30 p.m. Monday, April 24 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City with her funeral services starting at 7 p.m. Pastor Tim Grable of Sugar Grove Church of God will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jordan’s memory to American Diabetes Association.
